On 6 November 2025, European Council President António Costa delivered a speech at the COP30 session on ‘Climate and Nature: Forests and Oceans’ in Belém, Brazil.

On 6 November 2025, European Council President António Costa attended COP30 in Belém, Brazil. In his speech opening the plenary session, he reaffirmed Europe’s commitment to clear climate goals and expressed solidarity with those most at risk. He stressed the need for strong multilateral action to address the climate emergency.

Padomes prezidentūra un Eiropas Parlamenta sarunu vedēji panāca provizorisku vienošanos par priekšlikumu stimulēt ar aizsardzību saistītas investīcijas ES budžetā, lai īstenotu tā dēvēto plānu “ReArm Europe”.

ES Padome un Eiropas Parlaments ir panākuši provizorisku vienošanos, kuras mērķis ir nodrošināt, ka pārvadājumu pakalpojumos var izmantot vienotu siltumnīcefekta gāzu emisiju aprēķināšanas metodi.

Padome vienojas par nostāju attiecībā uz atlikšanas mehānismu attiecībā uz prasībām un procedūrām ķīmiskajiem produktiem.

Padome ir vienojusies grozīt Klimata aktu, lai noteiktu mērķrādītāju līdz 2040. gadam samazināt emisijas par 90 %, paredzot elastību un nosacījumus, lai atbalstītu dalībvalstis pārkārtošanās procesā.

Padome apstiprināja ES atjauninātā nacionāli noteiktā devuma iesniegšanu pirms COP30, atkārtoti apstiprinot ES apņemšanos attiecībā uz Parīzes nolīgumu un tā vērienīgajiem klimatrīcības mērķiem.
