On 6 November 2025, European Council President António Costa attended COP30 in Belém, Brazil. In his speech opening the plenary session, he reaffirmed Europe’s commitment to clear climate goals and expressed solidarity with those most at risk. He stressed the need for strong multilateral action to address the climate emergency.

Raad en Parlement bereiken een voorlopig akkoord over het voorstel om defensie-investeringen in de EU-begroting te stimuleren met het oog op de uitvoering van het ReArm Europe-plan.

De Raad van de EU en het Europees Parlement willen maar één manier om de broeikasgasemissies van vervoersdiensten te berekenen.
